Default Phenom II heatsink replacement needed

I need to replace my Phenom II heatsink.

Case specs:

http://www.pacificgeek.com/product.a...0&ID=40065&P=F

Case Dimensions:
16.92 x 7.87 x 17.32-inches (H x W x D)

The side has a 80mm fan on it. So, that removes another inch or so.

I'm not looking for a massive heatsink. I just want something that will be able to cool it down. Under stress testing: 56C. If I OC the multi up to 17.5 then I hit over 64C+.

Will AS5 still be good or should I get another kind of thermal material.

This is for the phenom II 940. (So AM2+)

Yes, the Xigmatek HDT-S1283 would fit.

AS-5 is fine, or MX-II is good too.

AS5 will be fine, i like ocz freeze a little better myself, but there is nothing at all wrong with AS5.

64C isn't where you want to be running that cpu for long man, i wouldn't ever go over 60C max... The xiggy should work fine for you as well and it is really reasonably priced... Good luck man!

I use a Coolermaster Hyper 212.(I had to take the side fan off in my Apevia X-Plorer.) But it works extremely well...even when oced max temps is around 42c.(Ambient of around 15c)

It comes with the tools for a push pull configuration. (I have a push pull fan setup on it.) with a crappy Coolermaster Clear BLUE LED fan...The one it comes with is a hoss too..(cut my knuckles when I was working inside my case while it was on.) Was using it for light xD. But I seriously recommend this cooler, it's pretty underrated imo. Also comes with LGA755 mounting brackets if you need something to throw at something lol..
