Default Zalman 'stock' paste on a Dell.

So my horrible Dell, with it's proprietry heatsink has started to warm up a little, HW detecting temperatures under load of upto 52 and 57 C across both cores under load.

So I thought, "Hey there me! Why not throw on the rest of the cheapo paste you got with your VF-1000, it couldn't be worse than the stock Dell stuff, right?"

So I did some googling, and it turns out this stuff is also packaged with the old Zalman AM2 coolers, so I'm figuring it's good enough to get slapped on.

So just downloading OCCT to run a proper heat test on what I've got now, then I'll try the zalman stuff.

Not expecting miracles here, just hopefully slightly better temps. I'll post back when I've got some results/a working pc

I clean out my pc every 2 months, so I don't think dust or dirt is the issue, and can't really afford to spend a penny till I get back to work, so this should suffice till then.

cores peaked at 56 and 60C, which was a quick test but enough for me as I'm itching to get started.

Hell, I might get bored and pick up some AS5 down the line and see how that compares, but for now, I'm just keen to tweak with something.

EDIT:
So that was fun. The stock Dell stuff was spread thicker than peanut butter. Quick load test on Prime gives me 52 and 56 for the two cores, so saved 4C then. Winner. I'm sure AS5 would give far better results, but for something that took me 10mins to turn off and on again and cost nothing. I'll take it.
