Wow, nice job grunion. I'm suprised. I've seen it go both ways on review sites, but 5c is pretty impressive imho.

Now after all that work, would you say its worth it?

Thanks for the review

Are those 6 or 8mm heatpipes on the Megahalem?

I don't even see how the lack of 38mm mounting clips is even a big issue? Anyone with any technical/mechanical skill in the slightest can mount a fan to that heatsink, and do it better than Thermalright's clips.
6mm pipes
Same weight
Basically the same size, Mega is a little deeper, tad bit shorter.
The Mega is a 2 piece cooler, split right down the center.
I'll have to count the fins, see if they differ.

Blah blah blah

I think the difference, why the Mega is better, the retention method.
Zero play, excellent pressure, TIM foot print was spot on.

Even with the washer mod on the TRUE, you still get flex in the X bracket.
Know what I mean?

Looks good.

I hope this fits on my BlackOps.
What is the clarance from the mobo to the bottom of the heatsink fin? Wondering if it'll be an issue with my NB.

Surprised the TRUE was toppled for once

Hopefully thermalright hasn't just been chilling out while the TRUE dominated for 2 years and have the newest model waiting, ready for release which will take 10C off of the mega

Is it even remotely possible that the retention bracket for the mega is usable on the true?

Awesome. I wonder "when" the Megahalems could fit the AM3 boards.
