I say do this test with both coolers lapped and hope that the best (TRUE Copper) finally get's it's title ripped away from it. (It's about time) and finally end the debates.

agreed...i think thermalright has idled too long, i think its time for them to come out with another product, nice to see the competition going! kinda like cpu competitions now. Im getting a true for my birthday and im glad really. thermalright forever. it comes tuesday!

Very nice results with the Megahalems, I'll still hang on to my Ultra 120 extreme for a while as it still works quite well.

I do have plans to lap it as I have a slight convex profile to my block, I'll have to do a before and after for that.

who cares? It all comes down to price/performance to me. I'm not going to pay more than $100 for an air cooler (AUD) full stop, no matter how well it cools.

if a company is innovative like xigmatek and thinks "smart heatpipes" not "moar heatpipes" then i'm all for it. This seems like an awesome performer, but not worth it price/performance. Too much more money for only a few degrees lower... just doesn't do it for me.

Now if the TRUE or optimus prime were HDT...

It's called the Law of Diminishing Returns. Same thing happens with GPUs and CPUs too. Price/performance doesn't scale linearly.
