thats great that it works just as well or what not.

but to each to their own. the xig might've been cheaper, might look better than the OCZV2. it all depends on personal preference.

EDIT:

i just looked at that review and from the their tests.. the OCZV2 performed at most 3C lower than the Xig BUT the Xig has better performance/value.. plus that review was done on an intel rig not AMD. so it kind of has no relevance to this thread.

the other part of the problem is this... do you know if the OCZV2 blocks the ram for amd systems? can you arrange it horizontally and vertically? the xig has AM2 mounting but the problem is that it makes you mount it vertically and not horizontally... so its not that the xig users don't have AM2 mounts already... they just want something better.

Hey there...I actually ordered the OCZvendetta2 earlier this week knowing that I was going to have to mount it facing video card or top of case, because I will be using the amd setup..and i decided that was ok till I came across this forum. The xig and the vendetta2 look identical at the bottom and was wondering if it is something you could do for the vendetta2 as well?

Other ? is the pics might be deceiving to me but does this set up raise the xig up at all or does it stay true to its original specs..thanks

i don't know about the OCZV2 and if it'll fit. the only way you can find out is to tell me the dimensions of the base.

and the xig will stay true to its original specs. it will NOT be raised any higher or anything. though maybe i'm misunderstanding what you mean by raised... (i thought height wise)

ok..as soon as it arrives I will get you base dimensions...I guess i should ask if you still have some of these?

I'm curious Fossil...how tight did you bolt that down...I was thinking a knurled nut might be easier to help run it down..but was wondering how you went about running it down and if you did a criss cross pattern to keep it level?...thanks

Yeah I did criss cross as I tightened them down but only checked with my eyes and felt "how" tight or loose it was as I tightened the screws down. I really didn't have anything to gauge it. But it feels really solid and i'm positive it isn't going anywhere.

All in all they really aren't that tight. I could use the allen wrench and tighten them more if I wanted, but I don't feel it is necessary.

I used the criss cross method as well. I did a 1/4th turn after I hand tightened it, Don't want to crush my mobo
