Nope, I already have one of those, with AM2 it will only allow it to be mounted facing up-down. The intel X-clip I have looks exactly like in the picture I quoted above, but my Enzotech bracket has threaded ends. The only thing I can do right now is fasten teeny little nuts on them, it works but I'm wondering how he got the spring-screws to fasten directly onto the Enzotech bracket. If I could do the same thing with my setup, it'd make reseats and the like a lot easier.

yes i am, but i had this cooler when i had my x2 5000+, and i used a mount similar to the link that i posted to mount it vertically, it isn't the same mount, i picked that one up from a trade show, it had chinese written all over the box and in english it said "for you made AMD kit bolt!", paid 3 dollars for it, figured i couldn't go wrong.

the dimensions and look of it are almost identical, i would have to buy or see one of those in person to say if they are identical, but since i would have no need for it, i am not gonna waste my money on it.

even mounted horizontally, i didn't see a problem with it hanging over my ram, yeah, it was a hair's higher up off my ram, but it didn't block my ram slots, i had a biostar 770 am2+ board.

but good work you are doing or will be doing, would love to see pics of a finished product i know plenty of ppl who have amd's and xiggy's and have to listen to them complain about this problem, might have to get a am2 board and play around with a mounting bracket solution of my own for them

What you are looking for is this one from Performance PCS, just use the spring loaded screws that come with the kit in the 775 cpu cooler, they will screw in, I bought 2 of the
Enzotech brackets because they were so cheap.

How did you mount that with the spring screws? I had to go to Ace Hardware and get some very small washers and nuts to secure it, it's a pain in the butt to fasten back on.
i threaded the retention kits bolts straight through the plastic enzotech clip.

a bit of a tight fit, but i have removed it 8-10 times and reseated without fail, i just try to be careful as to not corss thread too much as this is what will kill my threading in the enzotech clip.

tbh, we should probably not speak of this here, as it is a very non-cost effective way to get this heatsink mounted right. the new bracket discussed by the OP and many posts thereafter will be much better on the wallet.
