a 38mm fan will be out of question entirely! it's very close and I ended up sticking a 25mm fan on the pwm/vrm side. However, it fits just fine.

Those Panflo Ultra's look very nice. Would it be more worth it to pick up some San Ace 1011's instead of those Panflo's? I've heard the San Ace's are like the holy grails of fans, but they're hard to find, and usually cost 25 a pop.

I'm worried about a 38mm fan though, I don't use my first ram slot on my Maximus II Formula, but I'm concerned with the space the Megatron will take up. If it will fit in the Maximus no problem, then absolutely.

Does the Megatron come with two 38mm fan clips and two 25mm? Or would I need to buy two of these kits to get a push/pull with 38mms?;

Would need those clips and depends where you bought it.
Here you can include 38mm clips with it and lapping ect.

And if you're worried about the space why not contact prolimatech for exact dimensions or if they have mounted it on that board?

No need to pressure mod this cooler... the mounting hardware is the best design I have EVER come across. Perfect amount of pressure, no wiggle due to two two indentations instead of one, and very easy to put together.

As for the fan, you'll want a 120x38... although the slip streams have nice CFM, the static pressure is crap. With the density of the fins, you need high static pressure for air to push all the way through. San Ace 1011 or Panaflo U1 if 1011s are too expensive/hard to find.

Also, unless your package came with the 120x38s clips (which I doubt Prolimatech will ever package with the cooler), here's my improved fanclips guide - doesn't obstruct your ram either

Ok? And have you come across ANY heatsink manufacturer that advises you to do so? Of course not. Although the Megahalem's base is a lot flatter than the TRUE, it's in no way perfect. I found it to be a little rough and concave, hence why I lapped mine

i got a tip about the slipstream fans..
to help make it live longer

take off the sticker in middle of the fan.
then take out that lil red dot rubber thing,
squirt in a lil WD-40, twirl the fan both ways like 30 revolutions.

then replace it all
should keep it well oiled and will definitely help it last longer

Thank you for the tip, will definately do this. I will probably pick up some high static pressure fans to push/pull, hopefully 38mm, providing it will fit. It doesn't really make a difference to me at this point, I've already ordered the cooler, I love it's design, and I will make it fit.

I ordered from Jab-Tech, I believe they state it comes with the 775/1366 backplate, and mounting bars, I need to check it again. From what I can remember their site was not very descriptive.

Thank you, I'll report back with the fitting this weekend, in case there are any curious MIIF users wondering the same thing I was.
