Exclamation Installing Megahalems on AM2 socket [Photolog]

Finally my Megahalems arrived and I spent absolutely wonderful 2 hours installing this baby on AM2 socket motherboard. I used Enzotech Type-S Retention Module for AM2 socket to convert AM2(AMD) mount to 775(Intel), original Megahalems retention mechanism and 4 generic nuts.

I was using Enzotech Retention Module with my TRUE for a while and I loved it. You can Install pretty much any TRUE-like cooler (Dark Knight or so) vertically.

Photolog:

Megahalems himself and his retention mechanism (part of it anyway)

Enzotech Type-S Retention Module

4 generic nuts from local hardware store.
I'll replace them with original thumb nuts from Enzotech as soon as they come.

Ready to land on motherboard

This is how it looks all together. Very futuristic look

Successfully landed

Ta-ta!

The s-type retention bracket looks good. I thought about getting that and a crossover because I plan on getting a DK, but after figuring the costs of shipping and then getting the DK it would've run me way more than I was looking to spend. So I figured I'd wait to see how much naf's custom brass mounts will cost when he gets them made in a few weeks here.

Impressive stuff! +rep

Question though, how's contact pressure? That's the only thing I'm worried about, other than that it looks good. Who knows, might even beat the official retention mount that just got released!

So with the stock AM2 bracket for the Megahalem, it mounts facing up... or?

Thanks. The pressure is equal to TRUE washer mode or maybe even better. I stopped tightening the screws when mobo started making these horrible cracking sounds (you know what I mean )

I don't know. I don't have a stock one.

I don't know. I don't have a stock one.
Indeed I do I pressure moded my NH-U12p so far down that my cpu was 'grinding' into the lapped copper. Any more pressure and I think it would start to damage the IHS.

So with that question out of the way, it looks like a very, very solid solution indeed! Now we just need to know how good the stock offering is - by the looks of things it should mount either way as well, but you never know. I'll have to pick up the stock mount when it becomes available (should be ~3 weeks) and I'll let you guy sknow. I'd just jump the gun and use your solution, but you can't buy the enzotech retention module here!

I'm buying this today thanks to you sir . I can't wait to try this out, especially because I have a feeling that the AM2 retention Prolimatech will make will limit the cooler to facing up only which I don't want. So thank you for inspiring my purchase.
