Question Temps i7: opinion needed

Recently I have bought a new system (sig-rig), and yesterday after waiting 3 weeks for my PSU to be send to me (RMA).-funny story: the PSU is 600W and from a good brand and actually blew up from the load, not any smoke or anything but it was dead- Anyway, I'm drifting of...

I have read out my temps for the first time and they seem quite high to me.
Even thou my temps may seem high or low to you, please consider the ambient temperature.
Also: stock speeds; EIST and Turbo mode off.

First temp. test.
CPU cooler: Mugen, with 1366 adapter. (scythe Mugen Infinity/SCINF-1000)
Thermal compound: AS5
Ambient temperature: 25C
Full load: Prime95
Duration: 1 hour
Temps: Idle: 34 30 33 28
Stress: 58 55 55 52
Fan used: Scythe S-FLEX 120 - 63.7CFM + case fans.

New test with 2 fans.

CPU cooler: Mugen, with 1366 adapter. (scythe Mugen Infinity/SCINF-1000)
Thermal compound: AS5
Ambient temperature: 20C
Full load: Prime95
Duration: 10 Min
Temps; Idle: 37 33 35 32
Stress: 52 48 50 46
Fan's used: Scythe S-FLEX 120 + Coolermaster CM690 120mm

My question to other (i7) users, are these temps to high for my cooler. And if so do I need to reseat it? Because of the heat in my room (40C+) in the summer, I'm not aiming for a 4GHz overclock, +-3.6GHz will do. Any input will be appreciated.

PS: If this should have posted this in the Intel section, my apology's.

The test with 2 fans look good to me. Although it should not make so much of a difference compared to the first test.

Yea, the first test I did yesterday and it was allot warmer in my room, so that could explain it. But your saying the temps are not to high?

Yeah those are quite normal temps, I7's tend to run relativly hot. It won't raise much when clock it a few 100mhz higher with the same voltage though, you should try it.

yea, ill give that a try, thx rep+

It should work with stock voltage you say, hmm Intel says 1.2V is stock voltage, my chip is at 1.056V ...good chip.... but that's for the Intel section.
Anyone else???

I am not sure how well your cooler performs compare let say TRUE but looking at it getting 2 nice high rpm 120x35 should drop temps more when OCed.

The cooler is compared the "TRUE" with the mugen with a test from Hardware.info
TRUE stock fan: 40C
Mugen stock fan: 43C

So the temperatures should be "relative" close together, but they're still high.

EDIT: Thanks for the suggestion of buying 2 better fans, that could make it a little better.

Wait, the Scythe S-Flex are good fans. They offer good static pressure and they are high quality fans with a long lifetime.

Getting other fans isn't really needed, and if you want something that moves more air and really will give you better temps then you have to look at some very noisy fans.

Thank you guys, I'll leave it seated. If I have some time, I'll begin the overclock. I can always reseat it any time anyway.
