Can I join?.. I think that the Noctua fans are an engineering masterpiece.

I am thinking of buying the Noctua Air cooling fan and heat sink for my Sig Rig. I can't wait to see if they are as good as everyone says.

Features:

* 4 dual heat pipes, soldered joints and 36 widely-spaced aluminium cooling fins guarantee optimal heat dissipation even at low fan speeds
* Award winning NH-U design: Noctua's NH-U coolers allow for perfect airflow direction and have received more than 150 awards and recommendations from leading international websites and magazines
* NF-P12 premium fan: The NF-P12 has been specifically developed for applications like CPU cooling and brings the performance of the NH-U12 to a whole new level. Thanks to psycho-acoustic optimizations and Noctua's premium-grade SSO-bearing, the NF-P12 achieves exceptional quietness and long-term stability.
* Improved compatibility:Thanks to its raised fin-stack, the NH-U12P offers improved compatibility with main boards featuring very high chipset coolers.
* SecuFirm™ multi-socket mounting system: Noctua's professional SecuFirm™ mounting system for LGA 775, AM2 and AM2+ provides superior reliability and contact pressure.
* SecuFirm mounting system
* Can be rotated by 90 degrees for improved compatibility and optimal positioning within the case

Specifications:

* Socket Compatibility: Intel Socket LGA 775
* Material: Copper (base and heat-pipes), aluminium (cooling fins), soldered joints, nickel plated
* Applications: Intel all frequencies, AMD all frequencies
* Fan Compatibility: 120x120x25mm / 120x120x38mm (2 fans can be installed)

Includes:

* Detailed step-by-step installation guide
* Mounting Clips for two fans
* Ultra-Low-Noise-Adaptor (U.L.N.A.)
* NT-H1 high-grade thermal compound
* SecuFirm™ mounting kits for LGA & AM2(+)
* Warranty: 6 years

I got two NF P12 fans here, I even got their metal sticker on my case. I love Noctua even though I'm getting a IFX-14 soon.

Thought I'd chime in with my two cents! Although I'm replacing my noctua with a megahalem in about a week, I still love my Noctua heatsink, and do not regret it (I realise this thread is about the fans btw!).

It's well crafted, has a solid mount, and cools great. Just thought I'd warn you however, that many people tell you not to lap this heatsink as it's not worth it, but that is (sometimes) wrong. It varies depending on cooler to cooler, and in my case (as with some others) it was very unflat. However, as most definitely do not need lapping, you would have to test your individual heatsink with the razor/ruler method. And do this before lapping, because if it does not need it you might end up making it worse. Pressure modding does help a little (as long as you do not go too far, be careful) but is not as useful as it is on the TRUE.

Also these fans excel at moving decent amounts of air, at very low noise levels. However, if you are looking to cool a beastly overclock, you will probably have to replace the stock fan unless they've changed it since I purchased mine - I've heard they might have. I still use the noctua fan in one of my silent rigs, and its great for what it does - nay, its *excellent* at what it does, but it was never meant to handle extreme cooling.

Glad to see some 'fans' of the noctua variety btw!
