Default HOWTO: Vertical Mount A XIG on AM2/3

I have found the solution!
What you will need.

A bracket like this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835708047

4 Thumb screws

A Dremel

And last but not least, the intel push-pin connectors that came with your Xig.

Firstly, cut the pushpins off so you're left with a bracket and a hole where the pushpin used to be. Screw them onto the Xig.

Take a thumbscrew and forcefully thread it through the bracket so it goes in later with relative ease.

With the bracket, you will need to use a dremel or something similar to level it out completely. It comes with raised screw holes for the 775 installs and where it meets the mobo.

When done, the unit will sit on all one level.

Lastly, install everything on the mobo using the thumbscrews to hold the xig onto the bracket. Boot up and see if your temps are ok. If your temps are all vanilla, say hi to your first 2 dimm slots for me!

This mod worked perfectly on my UD4P AMD Gigabyte board but it would not work on my Biostar 790GX A2+ board as there was a capacitor in the way of the bracket.

You don't really need to do this with a Xiggy in a CM690, or Antec 300/900/1200.

But it's nice work there. Good work mate!
