My Prescott was running at about 90w OC'd, my Phenom II is probably running well over 120w so I dunno, the Prescotts were pretty horrible in terms of thermal output if anyone remembers them. They were notorious for overheating to 75+C on the stock cooling.

------------

My current temps are 54-55 with the computer just folding@ with stock cooler and NO OC... I'm trying to get this cooler but the only place they have it in Argentina (at u$s 80 ) is out of stock... if I leave folding in the background I put same game or bench it goes to 57-59C... but never had stability problems....(I'm wainting to get the mugen 2 with a low rpm/noise enermax 120mm fan to OC)

Clarification. My temps where taken from AMD OverDrive and room temp is around 25C

once I get the mugen 2 I will probably change my memory for some 4x2GB 1066 GSkill since the 4 reapers won't get along with the mugen...(I have 4 slots used)

I was expecting to see 85 degrees when I saw the thread I would move the fan for sure as that dont look right and I dont know the cooler but it looks like you could attatch two fans I;d try that before reseating.

Like I said earlier, it's probably epoxied on
If it is, you can't remove it without ripping out the ram chips and destroying your stick.

Check this out if you're really willing to go through with it
http://www.tweaktown.com/articles/14...ers/index.html

I would personally just buy a shorter set of RAM (Since DDR2 isn't too expensive nowadays)

Do not, I repeat DO NOT try to take off the heatspreader. You WILL kill your RAM.

You can't turn the cooler itself so it's positioned vertically, can you?

Even though it might screw your airflow up quite a bit, try mounting the fan on the other side. Hell, mount it like that in a pull configuration and see how it does.
