NO, refridgerators are not meant for any type of heat load. They can only keep cold things cold.....

OP, have you ever accidentally left open the door on a mini fridge for a couple hours? Notice how hot the top of the fridge gets?

In case none of you took the time to read the post... Your points have been taken... notice how the OP said he was no longer thinking of actually running the fridge to cool the pc but instead just took the fan and cooling fins and used those... No point in posting more "No, you fail, you suck at life, did you even think this through?".

There has been a lack of these posts recently. People want the nostalgia.

Unfortunately, this is not the case. The fact that the fridge is in an enclosed environment means that the standard intake/exhaust effect would be impossible, if you just left it there, the fridge would get very hot very quickly, and if you put intakes and exhausts into the fridge then it would just whir a bit and not get very hot.

Think of it this way:
Vegetables, Booze, Yogurts, Dairy Products do not produce a large amount of heat. In fact, they release no heat, and the only heat the system has to remove is when new objects are added to the fridge, at which point they need to be chilled, or when heat transfers into the fridge through the insulation.

Therefore, fridges are not meant for absorbing large amounts of heat, especially not over long periods of time. This is further the case because many minifridges use peltier coolers rather than the more expensive phase change systems, which means that they would be utterly useless at cooling your PC. If it was a larger freezer, you might be able to salvage the compressor for a phase change system, but as it is, it's better just using it to cool your cans for hot summers days.

I was thinking about cutting two holes in the fridge. One for intake and the other would run a short pipe to my side intake fan.

My hope is that it will draw cold air from the mini fridge to the computer.

The only problem i can see with that is the time the fridge needs to cool the air.
Dude. Get a small AC unit then use that to cool your PC. Take the air coming from it an have go into your PC. You will see a HUGE drop in temps that way.

Yes, you can use it as a waterchiller but that's a lot harder than it sounds. There was an awesome waterchilling project somewhere in OCN. Search around.. It will have to be a hell of a mini fridge though.
Oh I see what you did there!

Fridges don't work. Get an air conditioner and cross your fingers.
