I got an idea to help cool my system. I have an old mini fridge that no one is using so I thought maybe i could use it to cool my computer.
__________________Does this even sound possible? I was thinking about cutting two holes in the fridge. One for intake and the other would run a short pipe to my side intake fan. My hope is that it will draw cold air from the mini fridge to the computer. The only problem i can see with that is the time the fridge needs to cool the air.

yeah i just dont see how you are going to get your heatsink near the fridge because if u put your whole comp in it will f word up and could kill your comp to frostbite (lol i mean frost)

Over 9000 people have had this idea before.
Fridges are not only useless when it comes at cooling down computers (not made to cool heat sources), but humidity will also kill any hardware after some time. Yes, you can use it as a waterchiller but that's a lot harder than it sounds. There was an awesome waterchilling project somewhere in OCN. Search around.. It will have to be a hell of a mini fridge though.

as stated so many times before fridges are not made to run 24/7 they get food to a certain temp and keep it there. They cannot keep cooling things down, they will break, your computer will most likely get condensation on it, and it just does not work.

Yo Dawg I heard you liked radiators in your radiators, so we put a radiator in your fridge to radiate while you compute. Very ineffecient idea there...

I had a similar idea:
__________________Pack a small intercooler inside a cooler with ice, and run some ductwork to the HSF...but I think there would be a moisture problem, and probably minimal drop in temps (but no extra power required other than a fan forcing air through the inlet)
