Those are all good suggestions. Panaflo, Ultra Kazes. (personally would go for the panaflo)

If money's not an obstacle then get a Megahalem or TRUE, if you want good performance, but at a cheap price, get a Mugen 2.

I ended up getting the XIGMATEK HDT-S1283 120mm Rifle with 2 Kaze's. It looks like I should have gone panaflo and megahalem from what I have read (but I paid for my rush job and lack of research).

But if I can get this q6600 up to 3.6 with tolerable noise I'll be happy.

I guess I could return it and go with that combo instead.

Any thoughts?

Assuming you'll be 'refunding' the item, you'll have to pay backwards shipping (and restocking fees)..so at that point it probably isn't worth the upgrade unless you plan to do some OCing and are going to get a TRUE/Megahalems.

If so then go ahead and return it.

I think this should be pretty good for OC'ing considering my V1-Max is already being used and that is not a very good cooler (IMO).

I just wanted the best if I am going to upgrade when I am already to get to 3ghz on a 6600 (which is no real feat)

Upgrade the Case and be amazed at how much your temps drop if you get a good case.

Also if you're just going to 3.0ghz, you really don't need a Megahalems..you're better off staying Xigamtek or get a Mugen 2.

Check your voltage if your cpu temps are high. I've seen alot of 1.7 voltage people today o_o

I'm already getting 3.0GHz so I want to try and get up to 3.6 if possible.

What temps are you getting now with 3.0ghz? What's your voltage? What's ambient temp as well.

What case do you have?

Good case is important.

Make sure your voltage is enough, but never more than necessary.
