Hi
__________________I just received My Arctic freezer pro 7 today and installed it, I used to have the Intel default cooler. And to my surprise my temps haven't changed: CPU:E8400 [Stock 3.0GHZ] Motherboard: P5Q Pro Case: Antec 900 Temps: Idle: Core0:39c Core1:40c After running Prime 95 for 15 seconds (I've never used it before) my cpu was at 75c so I closed it straight away to prevent damage. One other thing for some reason my Temp on Core0 never goes below 40c it was the same with the Intel cooler too. I've checked and it looks like the Cooler's 4 pins screws are in all the way. Can anybody help me with this problem. Thanks

What thermal paste are u using? Have you tired to reseat the cooler? You should be getting much better temps than that since I have overclocked a Q6600 @ 1.45v and kept it easily under 65c with an AC7Fpro. Check to make sure your motherboard isn't controlling your CPU fan (disable smart fan).

I remember that the intel one I used to use only ever ran at 1600 rpm.

I think 2600rpm is the highest the AC one can do. Your temps are way off there so I would think that either the base of the AC isn't very flat or you have a very concave IHS. Check the flatness with each by using a flat edged object (razor blade) and shine a light behind it towards you so you can see if there are any gaps. If this doesn't make sense you have your CPU in your mobo as you normally would and hold the razor perpendicular to the cpu, then shine the light from behind it. Do the same for your AC and see where the problem lies. Might be time for a lapping. I've lapped a ACF7Pro before so I can point you in the right direction if needed.

the push pins that is uses to mount are very fragile. After the third installation of my old AC7 Pro, I had to cannibalize a stock heatsink for the pushpins. Also, they have a tendency to not lock properly. There's a good chance one of them is not all the way in, so that the heatsink is raised up away from the CPU backing.

a push pin is probably popping out
you could break off the push pins and buy a bolt-thru kit for 5$

I had worse temps than you when I had my AC Pro, I've recently upgraded to a Mugen 2. My temps are still up, but your load temps seem ridiculous.
__________________I'm not so sure about caliber of the thermal paste on that cpu cooler. For some reason I don't think it's MX-2. Would try some other stuff with a reseat.

Thanks for all the reply's I've been away all day, I am going to try reseating it tomorrow, I think the pre applied paste is MX-2 or MX-1 Well that's what is says on their site.

Yeah, that's why I don't think it was MX-2 on there. Usually they put some cheap paste on there to lower cost of it all.
