I think the dark knight looks fantastic
but If a better cooler is coming out in a short period of time I would get that.

BUT I think You should go for it

Either one will be good. The DK is a good cooler, and if you lap your CPU it'll do even better. The megahalem ( I keep wanting to call it megahelm ), is also a very good cooler but its about twice as much as the DK and twice as heavy. And I dont think it comes with any fans. The fan that comes with the DK is actually pretty good, they claim 89 CFM (IIRC).

Another option is this refurb Big Typhoon ($19.99). It WILL need to be lapped right out of the box, just FYI. But it still cools remarkably well.
I have one on my folding rig sitting on top of a lapped 3800x2. It idles within 1*C of ambient temp and loads @ 40*C (Coretemp). I can run sooo much voltage to it (1.75v), it isn't even funny and it just keeps it nice and cool.
Another cheaper alternative, kind of dated but STILL works VERY well.
