My temps are pretty high on my Q9550 since the current cooler I am using is crap 40C Idle, anyways I was wondering if I should either make the move and by the dark knight/mugen 2 with the money I currently have or wait it out and get a Megahalem in the future ?
![]() Thanks

If your looking at the dark knight I would look at the Scythe mugen 2. It cools better than the dark knight and it is slightly cheaper. It really depends on how far your overclocking. a mugen 2 will get you closer to megahalem temps, but if your looking to OC as far as possible then save up for a megahalem.

I say that you wait for the Megahalem. It's better to wait a little bit and get top of the line instead of rushing out and getting a mid-grade cooler.

For what it's worth, Megahalems is overpriced just for slightly better air cooling temps. The Dark Knight is an excellent cooler and much cheaper. The Mugen has a few bucks on it but personally I find it ugly as sin. It looks like a giant block of metal you could knock someone out with.
A push/pull setup with a Xiggy keeps any CPU amazingly cool.

Personally, I say wait for it and get a TRUE/Megahalem/IFX-14.
It'll mean you never have to upgrade for a long time.

If you're in SoCal, the Microcenter in Tustin (right off of Edinger) has the Megahalem for $49. That's only $10 more than a Dark Knight. GET IT.
