This is exactly right. The performance difference in games between X58 boards running the same parts at the same speeds is minimal, not really even noticeable most of the time.

If not, the megahalem with a good fan or a TRUE would be awesome too.

As for thermal paste, I'd recommend OCZ Freeze as it has the same temperature difference as Arctic Silver 5 but has no "burn-in" time. It also appears to be cheaper on newegg.com
meh
i used the NTH1 and its great

The lower the timings the better, but then again you can barely notice the difference. I had OCZ Gold when I first put together my i7 rig and they died within a couple months, while staying UNDER the rated voltages.

I've had nice results with my corsair dominator 1600 6GB ram.

The CAS8 one seems fine. Same timings as the dominator ram and looks like it's pretty good. I just don't find OCZ reliable due to their lack of consistency in products. They do have a decent RMA service though.

k...im having a problem using my local credit card to make purchases through newegg and such...

i hope to use amazon.com... is that a good idea?

also...i cant find 38mm extra fan brackets to use with the megahalem on amazon... is it okay to get a 120x25mm fan to use the already supplied brackets?
