Default Air Cooler for i7?

i should be going i7 this summer...

I hope to OC the 920 that i should pick up soon....

will Noctua NH-U12P SE1366 120mm SSO CPU Cooler be good enough? I read the reviews that say its the best...

any other suggestions?
if the noctua is the way to go...does it come with the dual fans for push and pull and also the fan mounting brackets?

also id need a good thermal paste...im considering Arctic cooling MX-2 - is that any good?

PS - is the noctua shorter than the TRUE?

Yea, I've also read some great stuff about the cooler. I'd say go for it if you can spend it

If not, the megahalem with a good fan or a TRUE would be awesome too.

As for thermal paste, I'd recommend OCZ Freeze as it has the same temperature difference as Arctic Silver 5 but has no "burn-in" time. It also appears to be cheaper on newegg.com

Enough for what?

The top three performing air coolers for the i7 are the: IFX-14, Prolimatech Megahalem, and then the TRUE.

The Noctua isn't a bad cooler by any means, but in raw performance, it's decisively bested by at least half a dozen other air coolers. Still, it's good enough to take a D0 to 4Ghz+

I don't see any reviews saying it's the best... but if you're sticking to Newegg, the Xigmatek Thor's Hammer is the best on the site. If you're willing to venture out of Newegg, the Megahalems is the best. The IFX-14 trades places with it each time it's tested, but it's much larger overall than the Megahalems, and its mounting system isn't as good, so the Megahalems is better.

I say go for a megahalem or true. AS5, OCZ Freeze, MX-2, IC7 Diamond are all good.

bud if u wanna OC the 920 to 4Ghz in Sri Lankan climate an have reasonable temps ur gonna need a serious watercoolin kit, not air cooling.
something like this at least.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835108109

an get a good case while ur at it.

This cooler gives me 45 idle and 60-70 load with prime 95 it can go close to the 80c
