I keep it, in case I need it in the future. You never know when a 2nd/3rd/8th build will come along and you have an OEM cpu with no heatsink.

if your really bored i supposed you could try to mount it / lay it on as a nb or sb cooler and see what happens

I built me a nice custom external graphics card cooling tower with my stock fan. Air goes down and into the holes on the top and side of the case. Whoever designed this thing musta been stupid because they put the PCI-e x16 port right at the top of the case. Card can't get any air....

I have a drawer filled with old stock coolers.

Some Socket 478/Socket A/Socket 370/Socket 939/Socket AM#/Core 2/Opteron/Xeon coolers all sitting in the same drawer of my dresser. I harvest the fans and throw them all in a box. (Besides the Socket 775 ones) They are useful from time to time if I need one.
