Default Help identify these fans

I just got my hands on FIVE San Ace DC fans.

They are all the same model: 109R1224H1071.
They have only 2 wires coming out from the motor (no speed control wire).

I've searched online for their specifications but to no avail..

If anyone can help, it would be much appreciated!

I didn't find anything on that model, either, but a 12-volt version of yours was found and determined to be the H1011 with a power connection customized for Dells. So think of yours as that, only running on 24 volts and with no RPM sensor/control lead as you said.

OIC! So the 1224 means 120mm, 24V.. but what does the H1071 mean?

And also, if I run these fans on a normal computer PSU, it would either 1) throttle down the RPMs or b) not start up at all, correct?

I'm not sure what 1071 means, but it's most likely indicating its Dell-optimized power connection.

Correct, you need something to give it a 24v supply. Making a 24v rheostat and wiring it to run off of a normal power supply sounds like the best option, but it would be somewhat time-consuming.

Thanks Chimp!

Yes, I think the H1071 translates to the type of connection head it uses..
I was mistaken when I thought all 5 I have are H1071's; Only three of them are H1071's, the other two are H1051's with different headers.

Also, is there a guide or something on how to make a rheostat (I don't even know what that is..)

I was thinking of using a completely separate PSU for these fans so I can power them on and off without powering down the computer itself. Plausible?

+Rep Chimp! Top stuff!

Yes, this is actually a better option, however 24vDC power supplies are quite expensive and the fans might be a little loud if you try to run them full-blast like that.

As for how to make a rheostat, there are plenty of guides, but I'm not sure if they can apply to a 24vDC power source.
