I have a 1200, and the other day I switched mine from top to side. Got temps ~3c lower. Also decided to try taping the sides and the gap between hs and fan. Lowered temps another 2-3c. Might want to give it a try.

Hey just wondering how your OCZ Vendetta 2 is going? Did it cool your system down by much?

One that doesn't get used a lot is the hyper z600R from Cooler Master. I have my e8500 @ 4.25 gHz on ~3.65vcore and the highest temp I've ever seen is 46. and I live in central texas lol. I idle between 23 and 26. Plus you can have a push and a pull fan on it

edit: you may not have the room for the z600 in your case. The tuniq tower would be the next best option if you can fit it in your case

Top 5 heatsinks

i've seen the list, and tuniq tower isn't on the list! but a review on newegg said it just clears it so i'm thinkin about it
i had a xiggy hdt-d1264 and tried to mount it before, but it wouldn't clear the top exhaust

also, i think ur vcore is wrong.. 3.65? did u mean 1.365 since u are on an e8500, cuz 1.65 would still be really high for an AMD chip

also forgot to say, SORRY TO OP for hijacking thread, but it was a probe for the answer to your question!

If you have a hot graphics card, mounting your Vendetta 2 so that it has vertical airflow, it could be sucking the hot air from the back of your graphics which could limit how much cooling it actually does.
