if your gonna upgrade from the 9700 get a TRUE, IFX-14 or Megahalem. You want notice any difference with the Dark Knight on a dual core.

If you don't want to save up for a Megahalems or TRUE, the Mugen 2 is a very nice choice for only $36.

I didn't notice that you have a Zalman 9700 and I agree that your temps probably will not change a substantial amount because, the 9700 is very good cooler.

I still think these fans are amazing though. They may not live up to their specs (none do) but, they come very close to their 92cfm/19dbl. I replaced one of my main intake fans with a R4 and I noticed my SB (located behind my 4870x2) drop from 50C to 45C at idle. I also think the LEDs are much nicer than others, they have more of a subtle glow instead of a radiating shine. I attribute their nicer look to the black fan casing Maybe that's just my setup but, if your looking for some extra cooling performance the R4s are just what you may need.

Either way do what you feel you need to do and enjoy the hell out of it.

and Yes, I pay my bills first
