Default Should I get a Dark Knight (E8400 at 4.0)

I have been pondering this question for the last few weeks. I have $500 in the bank and have been wondering "Should I upgrade to the Dark Knight with OCZ freeze from my Zalman 9700 with STG1?"

Right now I run at 4.0 (1.28V) with idle of 35'c and load at 60'c (Intel burn test)

Should I purchase the Dark Knight, OCZ Freeze and 4 coolermaster R4 fans? or just the Dark Knight and OCZ freeze?

Unless there is a compelling reason, I would stick with the status quo.

Since your Load temp is 60C with Intel Burntest I would leave well-enough alone.

I would get the Dark Knight and OCZ freeze is a real good choice, don't know too much about the CM r4 fans though.

I would go with the Dark Knight and the CM R4 fans. That's what I did.
It dropped the temps of my e8400 from 37C idle to 32C and the R4s move more air than my Noctua P12s ever did and are not that much of a difference when it comes to noise.

There are a couple more in my gallery and I will be adding more as things progress.

I doubt you'll get much improvement buying a new heatsink.

Save the cash for future purchases.

I don't think the 4 fans is necessary. Your temps are fine as of now anyways. If you get the DK your temps will probably drop a few degrees (3-5C), but I don't think it's necessary unless your going to try to push past 4ghz. I would just save your cash, your nowhere near too hot.

with 60C under intel burn test there isn't any reason to buy a new HSF other than e-peen or just burning cash for fun ...
save your money .. invest in a quad core or a new GFX

Mugen 2!!!

It is obvious that you care about your temps, so get a Mugen 2! It has better temps than the Dark Knight, is cheaper, and that makes it badass.
