OK, I have recently upgraded my pc case and cpu cooler. I bought a Xigmatek cooler with a 92 mm fan on it. My temps when idle are 50-51C. Even after I play games for hours straight it is at 50-51C. When I boot my pc up and go into the BIOS it says 30C. I left it on there for 3 hous today and it never went above 31C. Which monitor should I believe, HW montior in windows or in BIOS?

use realtemp or coretemp for your cpu temps

well if you have the power saving features still enabled in the bios it will underclock your cpu when idle by decreasing the cpu voltage and multiplier. Since your only using a 92mm heatsink on a quad temps are gonna be a little higher. Most people use 120mm heatsinks on quads. Whats your room ambient temp? Are you running at stock or is your CPU overclocked?

My Cpu is stock clocked and my room temp is usually at 71F. Should I get a 120mm fan cooler?

I dont plan to overclock so I guess I will just leave it alone. I applied the thermal paste by removing the old with a remover and I used a card to put a layer on the cpu. It should be right.

One of the main reasons why you are getting lower temps in the BIOS than in windows is that in the BIOS, your CPU literally has a load of 0%, while in Windows, it must run the OS, as well as many other things in the background. Also, the BIOS displays the TjCase temp, which this temp is not very important to measure, the temps that you should really be looking at are the temperatures of the cores, and making sure that they are well within parameter.
