I can remove my Xigmatek S1283 without removing the mobo from the case. Same socket, same case. Just be careful of the 120 and 140 exhaust fans.

Be sure to install the ram BEFORE the heatsink, unless you use DIMM slots that won't be covered by the heatsink.

System: Well... it's certainly clocked... and bright.

I still recommend removing the motherboard to install it. Like the HDT-S1283, the DK is hard to lineup and center on the cpu without a clear view of the cpu. The clip works fine and applies plenty of pressure, but it is very difficult to know if you are centered up. I had many heat issues using the HDT-S1283 and found in the end that the problem was that, even though it looked like it was fully covering the cpu, I had about 1/4" not covered on one side. That makes for a VERY hot cpu at idle.

Default Dark Knight

I have a Gigabyte MA790X-UD4 Motherboard. I want to install a Dark Knight on here. On ym stock heatsik it only has the screws. Will I be able to mount this? Also there is no orange cpu socket clip pictured on the motherboards box. I bought my gaming rig from circuit city. They might have removed this place around the cpu. Will that be a problem mounting the dark knight?
