Default Installing the Xigmatec Dark Knight

In the pics it looks like it can use the clip thing that the stock AMD HSF uses... does that mean it's going to be a very easy install (I won't need to remove mobo)?

Most CPU coolers with a backplate will require you to remove the mobo to install it.

Backplate doesn't fit AMD motherboards, but due to the size I still doubt you'll be able to do it without removing the motherboard.

Uh, I don't know what the above posters are talking about but you don't need to remove the motherboard at all to install the Dark Knight. The retention clip you're referring to that is common for all AMD boards will be very easy to work with. You basically slap the paste on, mount the cooler, slide the clip through the cooler and latch it down.

Hell I didn't even need to remove my motherboard installing the custom mounting bracket I bought. The backplate doesn't move at all because it has plastic inserts that come through the motherboard holes and keep it in place.

edit: lol funny both users who claimed such have intel systems.

He has a top exhaust fan, so it doesn't matter too much
