It seems like the thicker stuff like OCZ Freeze works better on HDT coolers. And apply it like Slothfish mentions above, or follow that link to Benchmark Reviews they have a good picture demonstration of it.

Neither IC Diamond 7 is better than both. I have used all 3 and got the best results with ICD7.

ICD7 dropped my idle temps 3*C and load temps 7*C.

Yeah, IC Diamond 7 and that one Shin Etsu are the two best.

Honestly you'll have more temp variance depending on how well you apply it then the difference between the two TIMs. I recently read a very thorough review of all the popular brands and there was only ~2C difference between the very worst and the very best. This is out of like 30-40 different products.

BenchmarkReviews.com, they have an 80-way TIM performance test that also shows you the best way to apply based on the type of base your heatsink has.

IC Diamond 7 is your best bet probably, but you'll probably only get 3C or so lower temps. I've seen people get 5C+ better temps with it, but I really doubt that. Variables like fluctuation in ambient temp or a bad recent seating is what causes people to think that.

Well to be honest OCZ freeze and MX both gave me same temps, IC gave me a 1c diff..
