who'd win with the same fan setup?
how will the ifx-14 compare without the ifx-10 backside cooler? how will the two compare if both had the backside cooler? thanks

from what I've seen, the IFX-14 is really application specific in that it's either a great cooler or a fairly good, but pain in the ***. Even then, it's within a degree or so better/worse of a Megahalem. They're both fantastic coolers, but the Mega is typically slightly cheaper, far easier to install/orient, and a lot less of a hassle to work with later.

They'd probably perform roughly the same, go with whatever is cheaper.
The IFX can use 3 one hundred and 40mm fans, though.

how will the ifx-14 perform without the backside? coz i might just get a megahalem paired with an ifx-10 if the main hsf can't hold out on its own.

There was a heatsink round-up at Madshrimps and it shows the Megahalems beating the IFX-14 when paired with a Delta fan. The difference in temp. was only.5*C. With quieter, less powerful fans, the IFX-14 comes out on top within 2*C.

the ifx wins with all of them having the same fan, there were a couple of reviews google it up but the only thing is the ifx doesnt always come perfectly flat its just like the true, so if u can lap that ud have near water cooling

yep. i see the ifx-14 winning most of the time. but there are also other reviews that had the megahalem winning.
i'm still curious about the impact of the backside cooler.
