Hey, everyone. I'm kinda new here and I'm pretty sure I couldn't find anything like this in the search so here's my question. My stock AMD cooler fan is a standard 70x15mm PWM fan, but in my search for why it wouldn't throttle, i found it has a Thermal Diode that dictates its speed. I want to know if there's any way to "short" or bypass the diode so I can control the fan directly using only pwm. I can see the Diode sticking into the fan blade area on the PCB but I just wanna get some advice before sticking my soldering iron onto it.

Just use speedfan to control it.

I have tried using speedfan, but the fan itself has a thermal diode on it that limits the speed unless the air going through it is hot enough. only then can I adjust the fan speed. I just want to know if I can just solder the 2 thermostat leads together and bypass the diode?

Have you turned of cool and quiet in the bios? Along with any other cpu limiting options?
