I don't know of any major store that would carry that fan controller. I've heard bad things about it if you put low wattage fans on it anyway, so 99.9% of people wouldn't want it.
I dont think a 48 watt fan is considered a low wattage fan...
But maybe thats just me.
I only plan to have these fans on high on extreme benchmarking sessions, when I get that Striker 790i. Also maybe in unison with this: http://www.arctic-cooling.com/catalo...7&page=gallery
But to the dude before me, yeah, my mom just MIGHT get a little pissed if i had these hooked up to the full 12V.

99.9% of people don't use fans with that high of wattage...that's why I said that controller is useless to most of us. Also, you only can select 7v and 12v. 7v won't be that quiet either.

If you want extreme benching...get water cooling, or better yet phase, not fans that are going to get you a couple C cooler than a much quieter solution.

Beat me to it

OP, we're not trying to be dicks about this, all we're saying is that the money spent (+ the headaches gained) does not correlate to the potential (yet most likely negligible) benefit, that's all.

I've said my peace on it. Good luck to you and I hope it works out!

Too bad both of those "solutions" are crazy expensive.
Thats why most people go with air cooling...its the cheapest form of cooling money could buy. A good air cooler beats a crap water cooler.
So...any other good fan controllers with that high of wattage support and tweakability?

True, a good H2O setup can be expensive, but you're already looking at spending $100 on 3 deltas and a controller, when for about $50 more you could get this:

http://www.petrastechshop.com/pecoli.html

(well, when they have it back in stock at least )

you could also keep an eye on the For Sale section of this and other forums. Geeks are *always* upgrading

Again, maybe you'll be really happy with a Delta setup...but I think you're just setting yourself up for disappointment.

hmmm...
If you really insist, then i may just get one of the 252CFM fans and 2 more blue LED tricools. One problem though, I'll still have to get that $40 fan controller.
BUT
The fans that come with the case dont have 3 pins, only 4 pin molexes. So i'll need adapters?

You'd have to look and see if that controller comes with them. Most come with a few at least, and the adapters aren't really that expensive.

OK then, its decided...
First 2 antec tricools for the megahalem
Then the 60w fan controller
Then the delta 252CFM.
Now i just need to refuel on money, after that GTX 285 purchase from primer that i made.

Bwahahaha I can't wait until you hear those fans on a heatsink. You won't want them, guaranteed. Unless you are deaf, 65dB is going to drive you insane, no exceptions. I do think that they'll be a whole lot of fun, though. Actually, now that I think about it, I want a few. Something manly about fans that sound like F-16s...

i really hope you dont mean that you are even considering trying to put 2.0v through your cpu..

if you have a delta then you have to have another delta or a big hole in the back of your case because the air will have nowhere to go. a tricool fan cannot exhaust that much air.
