Wish I had known that sooner. I was looking at volume since I could find very little good information on the static pressure for any case/pwm fans. Do you know where I can find information about the static pressure?

Should I put TIM on both the i7 and Mega, should I do the dot, line, or spread it out myself or what? Should I heat up the TIM first in warm water?

Lots and lots of questions, I know. I just wanna get the lowest temps possible.

Lap it: NO

Push/Pull: YES. The Megahalem works great with push pull (but the more air you get through it, the better. If you can bare the sound, get some good 120x38mm fans. I am currently using an Scythe Ultra Kaze 3000RPM fan. But San Ace or Delta are the best).

Applying TIM: Personally I use a little bit more than what they say to use. I use a blob in the dead center of the CPU. The carefully put the cooler down onto it and apply pressure. Next twist it side to side slightly a few times and then tighten it down.

The only TIM I know of that you have to heat up in water (because it is so viscous) is IC7.

Where can you find San Ace fans? They are very hard to find in the US and I could only find them at Petra's with limited quantities.

You can lap it if you want but IMO its not worth it, if you are going to lap it you need to lap it with the cpu as a combo, 1-2C really isn't worth it.

Prolimatech did a fine job making the heatsink, its micro raised in the middle where it touches the cores.

Also when I applied my TIM, it used the spread method, put a rice size drop in the middle, get a plastic bag and spread the TIM with your finger.

This is what mine looks like. Your should look the same.

With the S Flex, I could see you getting 2-3C off your temps if you go push/pull. While they've got good static pressure for 25mm thick fans, they still pale in comparison to 38mm thick fans.

Pretty sure you don't have to lap the Megahalems either. However, even though they recommend a certain fan speed, a higher pressure fan will still give better temps.
