Should I lap my Megahalem? Or what is a way I can tell if I should lap it? Also, is it worth it to get a 2nd S-flex F to add on for push-pull? Should I have 2 S-Flex F's or 1 F and 1 E (I think I read something saying you want the pull to be stronger). What is the best way to apply TIM with the Megahalem and i7? I got OCZ Freeze. Should I put TIM on both the i7 and Mega, should I do the dot, line, or spread it out myself or what? Should I heat up the TIM first in warm water?
Lots and lots of questions, I know. I just wanna get the lowest temps possible.

I would just put the thermal compund about the size of a grain of rice in the cpu.

Don't lap it. Do a razor blade test to see how flat it is, usually the Megahalems are perfectly flat stock.
A single drop of TIM the size of a grain of rice on the CPU will do fine. Do it, install the cooler, then remove it to check the spread if you really want to see how good the contact is.

Whatever fans you decide to get (Scythe Slipstream 1900rpm 110cfm), make sure you've got the clips for it, the included kit only has clips for 120x25mm fans. If you go with push-pull, you'll want to use shrouds to minimize the dead zone created by the motor hubs. I can't remember where it was, but someone explained it all in great detail with pictures and charts, but it's in the forums here. Again, Prolimatech has a suggested method. You can check out the link in my signature, since BenchmarkReviews also has a suggested method. I personally spread my AS5 just on the cpu and didn't bother with the heatsink. My previous heatsink was a Xigmatek HDT-S1283 and I've seen an idle drop from 41C @ 26C ambient to 36-38C @ 26C ambient and a load drop from 59-61C to 53-54C. Who knows, maybe I'd get better if I spread the AS5 on Megatron as well. I hope this helps you and points you in the direction you wanted to go. Good luck and have fun.

What's your ambient temperature? Your "to hot" cpu may not be the fault of your heatsink. Quotes are great, taken in context and not distorted.![]() I'm convinced, check out 80-Way TIM Performance Review and see why ![]() The Barracuda Validated

Also do you guys think, since I already got 1 s-flex F, I should get a 2nd, or instead get 2 S-Flex E's for quietness. I got a fan controller, but I like everything to be as quiet as possible.
Will 2 S-Flex F's be any better than 2 S-Flex E's. Prolimatech suggests 800-1200rpm fans, and the S-Flex E's are 1200rpm. S-Flex E ratings - 20dBa 49CFM S-Flex F ratings - 28dBa 63CFM

You put a razor blade's edge on the heatsink's base and look at it from straight ahead with light shining from the other side to see how flat it is. The light will illuminate any gaps which would undoubtedly be the result of an uneven base on the heatsink.
