Don't panic!
It might be your thermal paste. If you are using AS5 or similar, there is a burn-in time in which the paste dries out. As it dries, it becomes more effective. You might also be using too much paste. This will actually insulate the heat rather than than transfer it to the heatsink as it should. The NV-120 is an excellent cooler and has plenty of pressure on AM2 sockets. It's not the cooler. If you want more pressure, give the retention bracket a very, very gentle bend. Just try a small dab in the middle of the CPU, about the size of an uncooked grain of rice, and put the cooler on it evenly and attach the clips. BTW If you want the best pastes with minimal or no burn-in time and the best temps, go with OCZ Freeze or IC Diamond.

Has your ambient temperature also increased? (Very likely if you live in the northern hemisphere, as summer is upon us.) This is one factor hardly anyone mentions when talking about increased PC temperatures.

You don't need TIM on both the cooler and the CPU
Just apply it to one. Btw, speaking of ambient temps, how much higher are your temps after reseating? It could just be that summer is warmer.
