Default Are those temps ok?

~50 degrees @ idle
~64 degrees @ full load

I have put quite lot of effort into improving my cooling, but the temps havent really improved. (bought cpu cooler, new case)

Are those normal temps for q6600 @ 3GHz?

What would you recommend me to improve my cooling?

That is a very hot. I have my q6600 at 3.20 GHz. Idle as 31 load at 50 with a sunbeam core contact freezer. Try re-installing the cpu cooler. Sounds like you messed up with the thermal paste.

I'v tried 3.2GHz, but it ran too hot for my taste! (58 idle, 66 load).

Seems a bit hot but what matter is load temp which is fine. What thermal paste are you using?

One which came with Noctua cooler. I also got artic silver paste as backup one - should i use that one instead?

Could be the temp in my room? Since the difference between idle & load isnt that big.

Also i use 2 external coolers for GFX's (each has 2 fans), they spit hot air back to the case - might be wiser to get 1 card instead, with air cycle out of the case.

No your room temp wouldn't be it or the load would be higher which that seems off only a 9 degree increase on load? what are you using to put it on load? prime95,occt, intel burn will put it on LOAD

And which AC paste? top pastes now are ocz freeze, ic7 diamond , mx-2

What is your room temp, use your arctic silver thermal paste never use the paste that heatsinks come with, what is the airflow like in your case, how many exhausts and intakes and what cfm?. I got my q66 clocked to 3.6 and i idle at 35 and load around 55 on water.

Prime95, the default test. You are right, it will probably go higher over time. Perhaps 62-63.

I will buy OCZ freeze (or the others mentoined). Hope i am not doing anything wrong when re-applying the paste. Is it ok to clean the CPU with dry cloth or tissue, or do i have to use some kind of substance?

I dont know what are my temps exactly, but its definitely quite over 20.
I'v got default cooling that came with ATCS840, that is 1 intake fan, one at rear and 2 at the top.

Here is picture. Excuse the cable mess, i just got this case and havent have enough time to do proper cable management.

What did you use to stress your proc? Use some MX-2, IC7, OCZ Freeze, or (and I do not like it anymore) AS5. That will lower your temps. If you want to see a huge drop, use MX-2 or IC7.

Wipe off as much thermal compound that you can with a dry cloth. The clean it really good with some rubbing Alcohol (91% Isotopyl Alcohol) by putting some onto a clean cloth and rub it really good (I say a good vigorous cleaning 2-3 times before I think it is clean). That will clean things up. the for freeze, use this guide.
