It's really hard to tell from the specs. There's no static pressure reading from the Panaflo Ultra. Tough choice between the San Ace 109R and the Panaflo Ultra. Better asked others about their opinions on them.

I'd go with the san ace...unless you can get the panaflo for much cheaper.

I think we've already ruled that out. Most people would probably like something with some quality involved.

List of options, with explanation below:
1) Delta
2) San Ace 1011
3) Panaflo Ultra
4) Ultra Kaze

1) Pure CFM/static pressure without worrying about noise, the best you can get is a Delta (they even make a 120x76 model)

2) Best CFM/static pressure while keeping your earbuds goes to San Ace 1011s. They're amazing fans, especially considering their noise level.

3)
If you don't want to dish out the money for 1011s (they're pretty spendy), Panaflos are close to 1011s, but with more cfm at lower static pressure and slightly noisier.

4) Some would suggest the Ultra Kaze 3K, but I would stay away from them. They may be cheaper than all the other options and if you're strapped for cash, they will work. However, they're of cheaper build quality than the fans above. Sleeve bearing instead of ball bearing makes them less durable, and they emit a horrendous ticking sound if undervolted. In truth, it's a better idea to spend $15 on a fan that is meant to last 24/7/365 in servers than to spend $10 on a fan of cheaper quality that can't undervolt decently and won't last nearly as long.

$42 for 2 109R ribbed San Ace fans vs. $34 for 2 Panaflo Hi (Ultra out of stock)fans from Sidewinder.

I'd go with the San Aces if it's only $8 difference. They're seriously good fans. I've never used anything better.

I have a question pertaining to the Megahalem and fans.
Whether it's a 25mm or 38mm fan, how good can this whole setup be with such a large space between the fan casing and the Megahalem fins? The Mega is curved. Or I'm looking at the pictures the wrong way.
Wouldn't a lot of air be lost through the top and bottom that should be going through the fins?

Is that just the 3k model? My UK-2000 makes no odd noises whatsoever when I turn it down with my fan controller...

The San Ace H101's should be back in stock on Newark soon. They never post a date when they'll restock but from my experience it doesn't take long.
On the Newark.com website, the San Ace H101 has a lead time of 64 days at this time and the San Ace H1011 has a lead time of 94 days currently.

Depending on how long you want to wait and/or spend, I might consider the $9 or so Kaze Ultra :turd: until the fans you want and can't find arrive either at Newark.com or you find a new/low mileage one on eBay. Just my opinion on this at the moment .

Yes and no on the curve. It tapers down near the center of the heatsink to a channel that some think creates a windtunnel effect, drawing more air across the fins and better cooling the heatsink. So in theory, you're not really losing any air at all. Any air captured at the top or bottom becomes entrained in the air stream/flow and has little to no effect at all. This is also probably why the sides are left open and not enclosed as well, to draw more air across the fins through entrainment.

Sorry about the little lesson in "Heat Transfer & Fluid Flow", I learned a little of it in my Navy days and have to do it again in my Mechanical Engineering classes. I felt a little explanation was in order, so...

The lead time is extremely inaccurate. Last time they said 64 days and they were back in stock a week later.
