It is kind of a pain to work with, but I think some of that can be attributed to the am2 mounting bracket. My best results were putting the syringe in hot water for a little bit. When I put it on my 4850 it went a lot smoother.

I would just put a pea size grain in the center and let the HS do the rest. If you want to spread it, use an old credit/debit card.

What do you mean by the AM2 mounting bracket?

sorry, my experience was with am2/+ for mine, and actually getting the HS on was less than smooth heh. Mostly due to having to put it on at a weird angle and then putting it the rest of the way down.

Well, you could just visit the manufacturers site and use the instruction provided there as an obvious start.

http://innovationcooling.com/applica...structions.htm

Beyond me why anybody would post a recommended application from another manufacturer that has been proven not to work with IC Diamond

The method recommended by us was developed and proven by a couple hundred forum members in 5 forums in our beta/test giveaways, not by IC. Deviating from the prescribed method is not a path to a successful result.

For troubleshooting guidance I would look to our Contact and pressure Page after you have determined you have the correct application and still have a problem- this covers 80% of the handful of performance issues.

For a benchmark or a check against your own results

I took a different approach to applying IC7 with my Xiggy as it is an HDT cooler. Paste does NOT spread the same as compared to a flat based cooler like Megatron. The 2 line method common for HDT's is what I used for IC7 and it worked great. The stuff is hard enough to spread as it is so I did something different instead of the recommended application and it worked fine for me.

So you just used the 2 line method? I think I might try this as well before, but I gotta try the multiple dots first.

I used a small rice size dot when I applied the ICD7, worked great.
Are you sure the cooler is fully seated, can you wiggle it?

I also carried the ICD7 around in my pocket for a couple of hours, that got it nice and loose.

The cooler is set in stone pretty much, I can barely get it off when I attempt to reapply, and it doesn't wiggle at all..But see you warmed it up too lol. I'm doing this.

Maybe your Megatron is Concave, so when you apply pressure it stays in the little dome of the center?

When I applied my IC7 to my tuniq awhile back it spread perfectly. With the single dot method
