Hi all
I'm looking into getting some yate loons from petra's to replace the stock fans in my cm690. My only concern is noise. Are the YL's (either l/m/h) louder than my current fans?

The stock CM690 fans are quiet, but they don't push a lot of air. The L-model Yates are the most directly comparable, but I think the M-model Yates would be your best bet for replacing the CM fans, if you want comparable noise (maybe a bit more) but much better airflow.
Unless you have a fan controller (or plan on getting one in the near future), in which case you should get the H-model. That's what I did, pretty satisfied with it. The best budget fans out there.

I do have a fan controller, so I guess it's not a huge problem, I can just throttle the fans back if they're annoying me

Just get a high speed fan (trust me you dont know when you really need it) and use the fan controller to turn it down.
