Default Dark Knight

Alright so I just bought a dark knight, I need help with mounting. I have a Gigabyte MA790X-UD4 Motherboard. With 8GB DDR2-800 Memory installed. I want to keep it that way. Will my dark knight be able to fit without taking any memory away? Is there anything I can do to mount it a different way if i cant. I have a Temptest case so I can exhaust out the back or on top.

With an AMD chipset, if you use the standard mount, you will have to orient it to exhaust towards the top of your case, and depending on the height of your RAM, only be able to fit 2 modules.

There is a way to mount it "sideways" but you'll have to get a new mounting bracket and an LGA 775 scissor bracket. I can't find the original thread that explains it, but here is mine for a visual.

i had some corsair xms2 800 and it would fit below the original HDT S1283 which is the same as the DK

you could always bend the fins on the cooler up to make it fit

Same size. It depends on how tall the heatsink is.

My Dark Knight fit easily with my Corsair Dominator 1066 in an ASUS Rampage x48. I know they are different boards but, I think the Gigabyte should be able to handle it with any mods....or at least for your sake, I hope they do.
