Guys/gals, I think he's trying to stick with a theme here. Look at his case, it's a Cooler Master Stacker SE. I'm guessing all his fans are Cooler Master as well. But I am in agreement with you all, he could do a lot better with a Xigmatek Dark Knight, Thermaltake True, or Prolimatech Megahalems. Any of those with a 120x38mm high static pressure fan would kick the snot out of the V8 or v10.

Check out Frostytech.com or HardwareCanucks.com, both are excellent sites that have reviewed both the V8 and V10. Search the internet some (Google, Yahoo, or whatever you like), you might find exactly what you are looking for, possibly something even better. Good luck and may the Geekieness be with you, .

*GASP* Blasphamy! But on a serious not, what he says is true. Getting a push pull configuration with some 38mm's like panaflos will give you amazing temps.

supposedly, there's a problem with the mounting when you turn it on the side.

Why bother spending the extra $10 for a bolt thru kit you're not going to use?

Vanilla and Dark Knight have the same mounting hardware for AMD.
Vanilla and Dark Knight have different mounting hardware for Intel, the Dark Knight being better for Intel with the bolt thru kit, however pointless for AMD users.

While it is very true that most of the reason people get the DK is because of the Intel hardware (that's why I got it), it also comes with a much better fan than the stock s1283. Whether or not it's worth the extra $10 is up to the buyer, but those fans go for like $25 new and are impossible to find.

It's also way more awesome looking

A push pull with 120x38mm will only gain you at most 2C, kind of a waste IMO. Delta (noisy & great static pressure), San Ace (great undervolting & great static pressure), or Panaflo (easier to find & good static pressure) are all great choices for 120x38mm fans. Each has its up sides and down sides.

I do remember hearing that. Would you say the Mugen 2 is better because of the mounting hardware? I'm getting ready to buy one or the other sometime today.

I meant, does it have better mounting hardware than the Dark Knight? I know it's not hard to install.

Sorry for being unclear, it's still early for me haha.
