Its a really good cooler. I was surprised that it actually beat my dark knight. But then again the Dk isn't lapped (yet).

And what surprised me the most was when I put in on my 3800x2, at stock clocks and voltages, it idled AT ambient and 100% load was only 9*C difference from idle.
Another bonus is the fan blowing parallel to the board keeps memory and PWM IC's nice and cool also.
For $20 shipped it is an excellent cooler.

How do you think the dk would do if it was lapped?

Probably better than it would do box stock. But since its heat pipe direct touch, and the base is perfectly flat, the gain probably wouldn't be as noticeable as a cooler that is not HDT.

When I decide to lap it I'll post a thread with the results.

In regards to the Ultra Kaze fans, IMO, that should be a last choice as it seems they have relatively high failure rates and make noise when underpowered (lower fan speed).

Scythe Mugen gets my vote. a little bit cheaper than the DK and it cools better than it also. Some say mounting is a pain, but i honestly don't think its a huge hassle
