That's not really true, it just has to be a few degrees warmer than the ambient temperature to feel "warm."

I'm going to flip my top front 120mm fan on my CM 690 to be an intake (Currently I'm running 2 front intakes, 2 side intakes, 2 top outlets, and 1 outlet behind the mobo tray) and see whether I get less dust...

I think that this will help my CPU and MoBo temps a little but, too.

Okay, I finally did this, and while I had the case apart I decided to cut out the plastic honeycomb on the top and front as well as the metal fan grille on the top (tin snips FTW!). It really helped my temps a lot on both my CPU and GPU!

Old Idles:

Temp1: 34
Temp2: 35
Temp3: 33
Core: 37
GPU Core: 43 (60% fan)

New Idles:

Temp1: 34
Temp2: 31
Temp3: 32
Core: 31
GPU Core: 38 (56% fan)

I actually made the top side panel fan an intake because my NB temps idled a lot higher (38) and I wanted to make it blow on the little heatpipe things on my NB heatsink.

I strongly encourage everybody to try this as it should cut down on dust a lot too, and it's not too hard to change back if you decide you don't like it.

PS--Let me know how it works for you.

Having blow hole fans blow inwards certainly helps with cooling, and is probably much more noticeable with top-mounted radiators. It certainly helped the air cooling in my GlobalWin 802 (two 120mm blow hole fans).

I think a major factor in its effectiveness is the motherboard layout, especially those boards with dual-CPUs, or those motherboards installed in cases with the PSU at the top - one of the CPUs always tends to be right under the PSU.

For that reason, I think bottom-mount-PSU cases are the way to go.
