I've sort of asked this before but never got an answer, so if anyone can confirm that would be excellonto!
__________________![]() If CPU temp in bios reads 46C, core temp reads 32C (and 43C under load in prime95) and maximum specified operating temp of processor is 70C, then which is the one that shouldn't go to 70C? Bios CPU reading, or core temp? Because if I unlock my cores, I won't be able to read the core temps any more. Many thanks. (Btw, for a stock cooler, how good is cpu 58C and core 43C stable in orthos/p95 after 3 hours?)

Download speedfan and everest ultimate and see what ya get on those but the bigger question is what are your ambients? If you pc is sitting next to ac that will impact your readings.

Oh for goodness sake, the only answer I ever get from people is 'use this program, use that program'. I do! I use them all. I highly doubt ambient temps are going to make my core temps 14C lower than my socket temp. It's so hard getting proper answers to simple questions.

Yeah, I have the programs, I might have misread his answer.
__________________I'm hoping It's a very simple "Core temp is" which I read as "Core temp is: (located right here so use it)" I'm running CoreTemp/SpeedFan/HW Monitor/Everest ultimate overkill. Ambient temperature is pretty much close to 25-27C. Rephrase for clarification: Which should I be referencing when NOT going over the AMD prescribed (70C) or OCing experience "fire"wall (56C from a poster on another forum)? The CORE temp or the CPU temp.

I thought the cpu in bios is not idle (20-25% load). So maybe that's why u get an increase. Correct me if im wrong plz.

To the o.p. you could have a faulty sensor perhaps. If you have a multimeter with a temp probe try it, or even one of those point temp guns would help. If the temps are too good to be true then it probably is. You just need something to physically check the temps and that way you can see if it is the sensor misreading it or what is going on. |

I'm curious how you (kk) propose to get a probe into the CPU core..
