Default xp-120/case fans

ok i have a two part question. First I reinstalled my xp-120/ 120mm panaflo with the as5 this time and my temps are now 2-4C hotter than with the crappy paste, is that normal?
My second question is are they considerably better 80mm fans than the coolermaster fans in my wavemaster case? I fear Im gonna have to mod some extra case fans

Well, AS5 has to cure but it should be better right off the bat. How much paste did you use? The best method is to clean the cpu and the heatsink with rubbing alcohol, and then use a bb sized dot in the centre of the cpu and seat the heatsink. You need very little as5, too much will give bad results.

There are 80mm fans that will do around 100CFM, so there's definately ones better than you have now.

Curing will only help by a few degrees. 2-3 tops.
Like most have said, you're seating doesnt seem to be right. You may have used the right amount of as5 but maybe your heatsink is not seated properly.
When I put my xp120 on, it presses against the IHS of cpu fairly hard spreading the AS5 evenly.

My opteron sees idle temps of 30 and full load at 40 and thats when i OC my 2.0 to 2.8
Reaseat your cpu but be VERY careful when removing the XP-120 because you dont want to yank out the cpu with it.
