If you add salt (1/4 cup) to rubbing alcohol and mix it when it settles it will separate into alcohol and saltwater. Then you can just pour off the 90%+ alcohol into a new container.
This is useful if you cannot find 90% isopropyl in your area but it's more expensive than just buying the stuff. Contrary to what has already been said you don't need to make a salt solution first, and you don't need to know anything about molar concentrations (molarity).

I never use any sort of alcohol. A dry paper towel is more than enough.

lol for those that cant find 90% alcohol how about some 99.0% stuff and its cheap too go to any truck stop or big gas station rest stop , and ask for air brake anti freez . a 4L jug will set u back $10-$15 and come on its 4 L ur set for life lol
__________________but some times alky just wont cut it i did enoghf rroded 360s to know that alcohol is ok , but acitone is like peeing on a snowman melts it cuts it like a hot knife threw butter , but with acitone u have to watch out dont go all nuts cause it will eat /melt most rubbers and plasticks paints , so now if u take off a heat sink and the stuff is all crusty , give it a shot with some alky if its geting u nowhere fast grab the acitone , but waite u dont got any wel its ok grab the gfs nail polish remover its acitone with a nice perfume and not only are u abol to get get rid of the old crysty goop fast but ur computer will smell nice too
