Hello all
__________________I am in the process of getting a stepping stone upgrade. Instead of a complete overhaul I am getting a new Mobo, CPU, RAM and heatsink. The Megahalems I plan on getting will be fitted with a push/pull config with 2 120x38mm fans. Now, I am getting either a) P6T Deluxe v2 or b)EVGA classified 760 for my mobo and the RAM are these http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-254-_-Product Gskill tridents. Will the heatsink fit with the 120x38mm fans without running into the RAM stick in the slot furthest to the left? Also all these parts are going into my Lian Li pc-x500

I am pretty sure the RAM will get in the way but check THIS thread. I am sure there are other owners of your RAM and mobo that could tell you if they got it to fit.
Also on that thread there is a dimensions graph so you could take your own measurements to make sure.

1st of, get the classified, you wont be disappointed
However, the fitment on a classified seems to very from board to board with respect to mounting the PM east west or north south. I could not mount mine east west as it hit the NB heatsink (its a big bugger on the classified). i have mine mounted north south. With north south there is no way to fit a 38 fan on the bottom side, only a standard 120.

No way... It will not fit using 38mm fan. The only rams that will fit with 38mm fans are the standard height ones, which it clears no problem. That is why I am resorted to using SLIPSTREAMS on my rig with OCZ Reapers, and PANAFLOW 38mm fans in my main rig with XMS.
__________________I have to say though... I really like my XMS series a lot. It looks clean, and runs nice and cool. It has not failed me during testing, and it am running them at 1635mhz or something with 1.64v.

The reason I am going with DDR3 2000 is because i like the headroom and the Trident's are cheap. I know it may sound weird to some. I am the type of guy that would rather get high clocked RAM and underclock them rather than OC over the rated spec. I currently use an Ultra Kaze with my Ziggy. I also have an extra lying around, so I figured I would just use them with the Megahalems. But, if the standard 120x25mm slipstreams will work out in an east-west config with the Trident's, I am all for that.

Another thing you can do of which I forgot to mention is mod the clips or mount it in some other fashion so that the fan is basically sitting on top of the RAM. You will miss out on cooling the bottom 10-20% of the cooler but its better than your other options. You really won't see much of a difference in cooling as the Mega does a great job with little air flow.
