Well Core Temp 0.99.5 tells me the Cores are running at 26C right now and my Nursery, High/Low thermom tells me it is 28C right now in the room. The thermom could be wrong, but i have 2 of them that read the same.

I can't explain the difference, so if you can please do. The thermom is approx 1 mt above the height of the computer, but I wouldn't expect a temp difference of 2C at that distance.

Prob core temp has the Tjmax set incorrectly. I would check it against other software like Everest. It is just an impossibility, the absolute best you could have would be ambient temps. The other possibility is that you have a faulty sensor like the 5000+ chips had. Mine read 10 and 20*c lower then the actual core temps were.

I'll get Everest and check, thank you for the info, seems something is wrong somewhere and i don't want incorrect data when I go to overclock the Thing.

Downloaded Everest Ultimate, giving same temps as Core Temp, so I took Mohammad to the mountain. Placed the Thermom next to the case, temp has dropped to a 26C reading, same as the Core at 26C. Goes to show, that 1 Mt in height difference does count.

Thank you for your kind correction eclipseaudio4.

Well I got and installed the MX-2 and Antec 120mm Side-panel fan yesterday. Installed my Masscool fan but the damn thing wouldn't seat correctly (****ty AM2 mounting bracket), so i'm stuck with the stock cooler.

My CPU/Core temps dropped to about 38C idle, but my while under load my temps are screwed! During prime95 or while in game my CPU/Core hits 60C+, once it hit 67C.

I've reseated it three times using the pea method and no dice. Somebody please help me figure this out, thanks.

Somewhat good news, I disabled CnQ and my processor on load never exceeds 65C, before it kept climbing. My idle temps are back up to 44C though.

Ok I'll give it one more shot and buy a reputed aftermarket cooler. If this doesn't work I'm upgrading to a AM3 DDR3 setup because I've been having suspicions that my XFX 8200 125W MB might be the cause.

Now the big decision, what is the best cooler for me? I'd prefer a fan around 130mm or less in height so it can clear my side-intake fan. Also one that may not require lapping. Anyone got any ideas?
