Have you tried to sadn down the heatsink holder so that the hsf will lower? I did that to mine so there will be more contact.

contact thermalright directly and RMA the heatsink - tell them that you think that the base is warped

Thanks for all the advice guys, but either I am stupid or I am stupid...
__________________I got so frustrated last night I went to Fry's and bought a Thermaltake Big Typhoon. Got home and installed it ok (I thought the XP90-C was a pain until I tried this one). Boot up the system and load temp is 63°. Granted, I'm overclocked (from 3.4Ghz stock -> 3.85Ghz now), but I don't think this is enough to cause these high temps. I'm running @ FSB275 x 14 = 3850Mhz. System is very stable. Now I've tried the stock Intel heatsink (64°), Thermalright XP-90C (61°), and Termaltake Big Typhoon(62°)... I'm very certain that they are seated well and I'm not using too much AS5 (I got my Zalman VF770 cooling my 6600GT great on the first try, and the XP90-C was cooling my P5LD2 great before I switched to the P5WD2). I may RMA this mobo and exchange it for another one... These problems all started when I got this new mobo.

whats your VCORE voltage?
the asus boards tend to overvolt a little bit which can result in excess heat also, did you use the BB-Sized dot method for AS5?

Do a bios upgrade, it might just be a clich in the bios, and what program are using for the temps.

The only thing that changed when I started having heat problems was changing from a P5LD2 to the P5WD2 mobo. The P5LD2 had load temps o/c'd in the mid 40s.

What are your case temperatures? What kind of ventilation you got?, maybe you have an airflow problem in your case. something to try

Got my new P5WD2-Premium in yesterday. Got it all up and running.... Temps the same.
__________________FSB275, 3.85Ghz - 100% load temp is 62°. I don't know what else to try, but I'm done messing with it. It's stable and maybe after a week or two the temps will go down a few degrees after the AS5 wears in. I have 2x 120mm fans, one in front and one in back; also the PSU exhaust fan. Ambient temp in case is 31°C. I may get a couple of higher CFM fans for the case. Thanks for all the suggestions. Maybe I'm just maxing out the air cooling for my O/C.
