are you serious? you've got to be kidding me.

it's a good low profile heatsink yeah. but this just won't stand a chance against the megahalem. you managed to have those temps coz your ambients are low.

I love my AC7, its quiet and keeps me cool enough to run at 3.4ghz with it and all my other fans at 7v. All for half the price of the S1283, can't ask for much more in a budget hsf.

I'm hoping after lapping and some voltage tweaks it will do 3.6ghz with the same temps as now, even if I bungle up lapping the first time I can try again for the same price as a single S1283. Alternatively I can learn how to lap on the AC7 then sell it and buy a Xigmatek/TRUE/Megahalem then lap that for ultimate air temps.

Well of course you'll get low temps when your ambient is 54F.. but I find it doubtful that your CPU idles 2C above ambient. Also, if your temps are that low, why is your hard drive 100F? My hard drive sits slightly above ambient. And also, why are your other internal diodes 30C+?

Sarcasm?
how is it sarcasm...... my temps speak for themselves, & my ambient is 24c

even so..... i dont think ''ridiculous'' is a word i'd use to describe facts....

idiot!!

really.... check these ''over ambient'' temps

http://benchmarkreviews.com/index.ph...1&limitstart=6

& this is a ''stock'' i7, once OCed its even higher

my cooler looks pretty good IMO..

but i welcome other opinions, not just fools who own the ''MEGAHALMS'' cooler & are blindly defending it, yes it cools well but so does the AC7 at less than half the price

i run the AC7 passive @ 30c idle & 60c load (i know b/c i waited 2 weeks for a controller powerful enough for the CPU fan)

I'd agree 100% if it had an alternate mounting system from the standard intel Pushpins.

I too love mine but I cringe every time I have to remount it. one of these days the tabs at the bottom are going to break off and I'm going to have to figure out some kind of backplate and screw/thumb nut/spring system to continue using it.

Aside from that it's a great air cooler.
